A Bit About Me
Hello, I'm Reina Tan, a Visual Arts graduate from the Southern Institute of Technology, New Zealand, currently based in Malaysia. For five fulfilling years, I've been a private tutor, tailoring lessons for kids aged 5 to 12, and nurturing creativity. A unique aspect of my journey is peer tutoring a student from China, aiding in planning and executing assessments.
In my studies in New Zealand, I gained vital leadership skills, emphasizing open communication, teamwork, and adaptability, as seen in my role as an admin at BHM Sdn Bhd. This experience has been both rewarding and enlightening, offering insights into diverse learning and managing styles.
My teaching philosophy centers on patience and determination in the creative process, impacting not only artistic skills but also mental health. By sharing my experiences, I aim to create a supportive artistic community.
In Malaysia and New Zealand, my experiences have shaped a unique perspective, blending cultural influences into my artistic expression. Born as the third generation of Chinese descent in Malaysia, I foster a profound appreciation for different cultural landscapes, influencing my approach to art. My goal is to educate and foster a sense of community where artistic growth flourishes.
